Digging deeper into Patreon

#24: Digging deeper into Patreon

This week I discuss Patreon and an interview with it’s co-founder, Jack Conte. /// Membership is about that stronger relationship between a creator and their most important fans and the belief in that creator and their ongoing artistic expression. The creators who do best are the creators who deeply love their fans and whose fans deeply love them back if there’s a really strong connection. Jack Conte I’ve spoken at length that creatives need to look at marketing as building relationships (I echo this a lot in one-on-one interactions too). That removes the feel of trying to make someone buy … Continue reading

is SEO bullshit

Is SEO bullsh*t or what?

Many of y’all know that I’m a web monkey – my dayjob is building & working on websites. I’ve been doing this for over 15y and consider myself to be more of a business consultant with some technical skills. I’ve learned a fair bit about SEO along the way. Dan Harmon You might recall me mentioning Dan Harmon and his Story Circle a couple of … Continue reading

Berke Breathed on his return to cartooning after 25 years in carbonite

I never met any of my deadlines for 5,000 comic strips in the 10 years that I did “Bloom County,” not a single one, and it was … Continue reading
